About Kim

Hello! I'm Dr. Kim Love. I am the owner and lead collaborator here at K. R. Love Quantitative Consulting and Collaboration. I earned a B.A. in mathematics (2003) from the University of Virginia, and an M.S. (2004) and Ph.D. (2007) in statistics from Virginia Tech. After 2007 I worked as a statistical consultant and collaborator in multiple professional roles, most recently as the associate director of the University of Georgia Statistical Consulting Center. During my five and a half years there, I provided statistical assistance for roughly 180 clients per year, in addition to training statistics graduate students to become independent statistical consultants. I am also active in the American Statistical Association, and have served in several official leadership roles in the Section on Statistical Consulting.
My areas of academic specialization include nursing and health sciences (both human and veterinary), as well as forestry, natural resources, and agricultural sciences. While I enjoy working with clients from varied backgrounds, I particularly enjoy working with those who feel they have a less-than-perfect relationship with statistics. My big goal is to spread an appreciation of statistics across many fields of study and practice, starting by making it understandable to those who interact with it!
My statistical expertise includes regression and linear models, categorical data, generalized linear models, mixed effects models, nonlinear models, repeated measures, and experimental design, but I have experience in a variety of other areas as well. You can find a recent copy of my CV here, which includes co-authored papers and conference presentations.
Please feel free to contact Kim directly if you have any questions.
